Start it when you've enough time to stop when you get bored.

Thing about the bits you have done when you are not doing them, and you'll work better when you get back on it.

Apparently it's something to do with the brain. People like me who are creative find it hard to organise themselves and become prone to procrastination.

People who use the other parts of the brain (generally better at maths and analytical tasks) find it easier to complete tasks according to a timetable without rushing.

One piece of advice from my uni tutors was to build in a "buggeration factor" to your projects. This is not time to go out fucking people in the ass, but more so that if something goes wrong or if you need more time, it's available to you. In other words, if you have 7 days to complete a task, then aim to finish it in 5, then you have two days spare to do stuff you overlooked etc.

Nice one, might research it and take it to my tutors to get me some EC's on my work.

Thats the thing Ian, the only thing that spurs me on to start the work is when the deadline is close, no matter the work load, even though i know i have to do it sometime so might as well get it done, but it just doesn't happen.

I'm kind of in the same situation. I know where i wanna be and i know i am not going to get there without putting in the work. By working on Ian's theory, i managed to pull out from an average of 46% in my second year to an average of 74% last semester. When you see results it makes you wanna push yourself that little bit further.

Know how you feel Carl, ive got stuff college course work to be completed for next week ive had sitting around since the begining of December, loads of stuff to do around the house, an engine to swap on a car I bought in a moment of madness im way over my head with & no one to help me + other shit but I just cant motivate myself.

I feel like ive done fuck all the last month or so & the last 2 weeks have been totally written off, granted I have been ill but ive been sleeping all day & sitting on the computer when I am awake - bad situation to get into. Im normally up beat about stuff & just get stuck in but I feel totally shit right now

Think I need to get a pt job, i just realised ive not done a days work in 4 months & I think thats maybe my problem

I found that Colin, working part time helped me motivate last semester. Do a bit of driving for someone my mum works for at the min but that doesn't intergrate me with people. My last job and placement was jus

Doesn't help that my uni pals are really lazy! Last semester i just did my own thing but hardly went to any lectures Got my results verbally tho today, was well made up

Erm lots

Started as a Lab Tech from leaving school, then went on to be a manufacturing tech then jumped to the construction industry as a estimator/surveyor for a small company & jacked that to hopefully go off shore - im chasing the dream & doing what everyone talks about doing....well sort of

Oh & its a crumbly further Ed. College I attend, no high flying Uni for me

HNC Electrical engineering

&

NC Instrumentation & Measurement control

Ive got a GSVQ III in chemistry & 5yrs experience working within the oil & gas industry - hopefully this will help me get a job in the summer. If not I can either go back to college for more of the same well an HND in Engineering or go to Uni but into yr 2 or 3 or an Engineering degree. I dont fancy Uni at all though!! Hopefully wont come to that.

Edited b'cause I cant spell - Burger King for me!!

I've been chasing the dream for years Finally coming to the end. Makes me happy but sad at the same time lol.

Might end up at uni for another year yet, something i kind of wanna do, but i also wanna get that job i've always wanted so more qualifications are a little waste of time.
