Got a New Road Angel (might come in handy when i fit the xe)
No cig lighter in my hi spec corsa, so want to hardwire it in.
Now, I'm going to take the power from the ignition barrel, i want to use the ign live, so its not permanent power, but, i dont have a multimeter, so what i'm wanting to know is, which wire do i use? i'm guessing its either the red or striped red wire, not one of the two black ones?
But which wire is it?
93 Corsa 1.2 8v
Got a 5amp in line fuse holder that i'm going to solder in line, to be safe.
Going to have the wire coming out the back of the TID thingie, with the road angel fitted to the top of it.
Thanks.

go to halfords and ask for the proper hardwiring kit for them, it means you dont have to cut the wire on the road angel so you wont void the warranty
you wont find them on the shelf, you will need to speak to the halfords fitter person who is qualified to do the hardwiring, should give you a kit for a couple of quid

You can also buy a harwiring kit from road angels website for about a tenner, i did the same after fitting some gauges where the ashtray and lighter were. Like ash says its the proper way of doing it and wont void your warranty

But the manual says to take the plug off the straight wire to hardwire it?

If it says its ok, then do it that way, I know my road angel(6000 navigaton and speed cams in one) has warnings in the manual and on the lead not to cut off the adaptor as it contains some kind of voltage regulator

Its just the plug for the cig lighter, it just unscrews, then the wires pop out, pretty thin wires.
