no, they are good engines once you strip off all of the emmissions rubbish.

Fair enuff. Found a veccy 2.016v eco. Alloys (vectra ones) full leather. For 550. Forgot mileage. Looks tidy as fook tho. Just wondered if there was any common problems with the engines

my dad had an ecotec 16v calibra from new. never got no abuse, driven very sensibly, serviced by the book and always got anything it needed. by 100k it was burning oil and going thru diff sensors like crazy...

Ecotecs arent all that bad, however vectras are prone to problems and are expensive to fix.

My 12v Ecotec on 65k miles is still going strong - seems to be getting quicker too...may be everyone just drives really slow.

my mates 12 volt ecotec bit the dust at 37k. that was always serviced.

mines a1.2 16v ecotec and its on 85k starts first time and runs sweet apart from the MAF which is playing up at the moment... they get abit noisy though
