like a pic of any filters that have either homemade surrounds on them for keeping hot air out
main reason is mines under my vent and can get a bit wet and wouldnt dream of driving when it is so was thinking stainless steal quarter surround that meant water wouldnt get to it also when air feed is up to it would be a lot better for it

not a vauxhall but you could implement a similar idea
Got round to modding my air box.
After searching for some 3.5" hose, finally found some its quite flexible and perfectly smooth on the inside.
Here it is coming from the airbox

It goes down behind the bumper, I cut a piece out of the splitter and this is where the hose appears, you can see it behind the piece iv cut out.

a few bits and pieces need tidying up but its pretty much sorted maf readings have gone up from 163g/s to over 170

What gets me is when people use stainless steel as a filter heat guard! It will absorb the heat and stay hot!
Get a plastic / carbon / kevlar one
