a 2nd man being arrested suggests they might be working as a pair OR one of the 2 arrested people is lying.

It doesn't even suggest too strongly that either of them were involved.

If I was the killer i'd go and do another one now to make a mockery of the police.

Actually, if one of the 2 in custody are the killer, i'd be surprised if some mental case didn't go and commit a murder to make it look they haven't got the original killer.

If his M.O. was to "put two fingers up" to the police then he would have possibly chosen a victim within the police

As for the copycat - people don't commint crime because they see if on the TV, Its something that they are born with & develops. If seeing this on TV is a persons trigger to start killing, then its very likely that this person would've killed someone else for other reasons within the future anyway. Usually it would have to be something personal that triggers these actions, unless theres another person in that area who likes/has had trauma involving kidnapping prostitutes, cutting their hair off & then killing them I'd say the chances of it happening are pretty low.
