Right basically, i was 18 in October, and my wage has only just been changed, so this will go onto Januarys wage, so ill have a nice lump of cash, due to back pay to October, and im wanting a new car.
I have a 1996 N plate 1.4 Corsa Sport at the moment, and i want another Corsa, still a B, but newer.
Im un-decided wether to go for another 1.4 Sport, and stay on my dads insurance, or to get a 1.2 SXi, and go on my own, but im thinking if i get a 1.2, is it going to be loads slower?
Opinions please...

Keep the N plate, use the extra to pay the insurance.
You'd regret getting a 1.2, and you'd regret NOT getting on your own insurance asap, believe me.

If you can't afford the Sport insurasnce then maybe its best to get an SXi and build up your own ncb.

Just get Power steering fitted to it.
i went to my local breakers and got a rack PUmp & everything else neccessary to add pas to my Corsa SRi for £70 then Payed Borris the Bodgeup Mechanic £35 to fit it all. \/\/inner
then you can get insured on your own with the money you have left.

Thought it was you that beeped, i just waved anyway like lol.
Dont want power steering fitted to an 11 year old car with 111k on the clock, its pointless.
Saying that, its a good go-er, ive done 14k since Feb, and never serviced it or anything *oops*
Had a quote with Quinn earlier, just a quick online quote,1600 on a 1.6 Sport, thats changed my mind a bit now!
Could i get it any cheaper if i rung up?

well no wonder why things don't go your way, you've got to keep it serviced!!! i was 18 paying £1800 on a 1.8t, i'm sure a 1.6 sport would be a lot cheaper as would a gsi. but there isn't gonna be a great deal of difference in standard form.

by the time my mates are 21 they'll be driving skylines!!!!!! How your still driving a 1.2 is beyond me!! I don't see the point in FC insurance unless your car is worth more than your insurance policy, so far i can't get FC insurance on anything nice less than £3-4k which i think is ridiculous, i'll stick with tptf.

Is this the majority of opinion? If your FC premium is £1000 and your car is worth say £600, its not worth paying FC?

well if you smash your car up, they'll give you fuck all for it, the chances are your excess is more than the cars value. so the extra cover is worthless, imo aslong as i'm legal than i don't care. if i crash into someone i know that my insurance will cover them. thats all that counts when i'm driving something sub £5k. imo ofcourse!!!

i can't afford to, but i also can't afford £3500 FC plus to give em £500 excess so i would of given them £4000 so i mite make a few £££ out of it. is it worth it??
