I have had mine cut down for years and never had any problems.
It has legal letters and spacing, just cut the empty ends off

I'm not having a dig here, but whats the objective in doing this? Alot of people do it, but I have never seen the point myself.
Because number plates are ugly enough as it is so making them smaller helps get rid of them! I cut both the front and rear down on both mine and my girlfriends car, looks much better and fits int he recess better.

I'm not usually a fan of cut down plates but they don't at all look out of place on either of these cars. Then again it could just be the cars as I love them both, especially the Astra!

I've had no bother with my 3/4 plate since i've had it.
Looks better than "Cut down" plates too IMO.
Small plate would look good on a new Punto though!!

Everyone always promotes these guys:
www.fancyplates.com
I've never used them but give them a try. There bound to have all sorts of forms in place to cover the 'show use only'.
