Well does that include the engine??? TBH i wouldn't know what to expect but maybe thats why most people would do it as a profect as most people would feel that doing this sort of engine swap is about enjoying your own work etc and not just handing over wads of cash.
The price of a rebuilt engine and gearbox etc is going to be a few ££££ so with the labour i wouldn't expect to pay less than £6k.
Who else have you phoned?

what are you using the car for??? it's eihback and £8k for all that seems reasonable!! Don't say in your first post is £8k a good price for a 2.0 turbo conversion with out knowing all the details of what your getting!!!!!
Red stuff's are used for motorsport aren't they??? If they're the ones i'm thinking of it's advised you don't use them for the road.

8k for an engine conversion? How is that a reasonable price?
Just buy an Astra gsi for 8k and save yourself the hassle

well reasonable in respect to how much work is involved, and obviously essex bad boi can then get cheaper insurance than on a astra gsi!!!!

Cant see how it would be any cheaper to insure. Courtenay charge 6500 without brakes or suspension. which is still loads just to have an engne conversion imo.
But if you have the money then who am i to say anything?
