What happens after its been written off by Insurance

mates looking at a car was cat c but owner got it repaired

Will it need any certificates etc

It will need an inspection by the DVLA which takes about 2 weeks. After that you can apply for the v5 doc and tax the vehicle

DVLA/VOSA Check. My mate had one done on his Clio he bought off eBay.

Knew it was accident damaged, but the checks hadn't been done, so check beforehand.

It's not an MOT, they don't check the same things. It's more to do with the structure of the car and any major safety issues. Even if the car wasn't MOT worthy it could still pass the VOSA

After it passes they'll give you a certificate.

so the current owner will have a certificate saying its passed a vosa examination

All they do is check the identity to make sure it isnt a ringer. (VIC check) costs about £40

Dont need a certificate log book should say it has been damaged and repaired
