the superchip chip goes in the actual ecu - tells the ecu to put abit more fuel in and raises the rev limit
the unichip is an extranel chip, that wires into the wiring - this can be mapped but i guess cant rasie the rev limit
correct me if im wrong

dont get it, surely it would be better to just have a unichip and have that tell the ECU/engine to overfuel/rev to fuckery?

its not so easy to raise the rev liit with a unichip

superchip + unichip is quite common with a mantzel setup.
superchip replaces the chip in the ecu and hs a preset raised rev limit.
unichip is wired between the ecu and the engine sensors, it manipulates the signals from the sensors and passes them to the ecu. tricks the ecu to adjust ignition timing and fuelling.

UNICHIP map OVERIDES the ECU map... but will use things liek rev limit, idle speed etc.
UNICHIPS can adjust fueling +/-, so regardless of a superchip telling the can to overfuel, the UNICHIP sorts it out (if mapped well)
I had a superchip to raise my idle to 1050rpm (to get the car to idle with wild cams), and raised rev limit. I then used the UNICHIP for the actual mapping.
UNICHIPS are piggyback ECU's... they take signals from cars orig ECU and alter them.

its a high reving 1.6. He'd need a bit more CC to get better torque.... or a turbo

well i got it rolling roaded at two rolling roaded at wallace before the superchip then at dastek fife. one made 148 with asda fuel and the other made 150.4 with v-power.
it was russle that mapped it and nows a lot about mapping and rolling roads as A.K will tell you.
i leaving any new bits till after xmas as i have to safe cash.
dastek now make a raised rev limit module that is used with the unichip. Tcosts £45+Vat

yeah no problem. everyone can chuck a 2.0 in not many people get 160+ out of a 1.6 engine on standard managment and no throttle bodies.

I wouldn't bother going to other RR's, your fly figure will only get higher.(less accurate)
WP's Dastek RR is accurate, its best to stick with the same RR is your modding the engine so you can compare b4 & after results.
