Scotland couldn't support itselfm it doesn't have the economy to do it IMO... although all they would need to do is offer the tax breaks that Eire does and the big companies would pour in!!!

jack mcconnel has already asked to go down the same road as the irish under the st andrews agrement and cut tax and if it happens why would any business go down south when they would have a little tax haven just up the road?
90% of the uks north sea oil fields belong to scotland, remember the old phrase "its scotlands oil" so its not as if the treasury wants to give that up is it 
the professionals seem to say it could take 6-10 years before scotland balanced out nevermind get any real gains out of it and a lot could happen in 10 years so is it worth the chance right now?
long term to me-scotland gets richer england gets poorer so it will never be allowed to happpen
best thing for the country to do in my eyes is shut the doors to immigrants before its all to late to do anything

In the fact the English Govt would no longer be pouring money into Scotland, where as I said we spend more per person than in England. The Scotish Govt would have to come up with their own money.

The fact that more is spent on Scottish people per head of population is a throw away comment which is more than offset by the amount of money that is taken from our economy through various other channels the big one being oil.
It won't happen imo and would probably be best for both parties if it didn't, we can't afford to be out of Europe tbh plus there is the fact relationships can't be allowed to sour between us because industries are Great Britain wide rather than you stick to Scotland we stick to England.

Of course Scotland could survive....Oil industry alone generates Billions...
Tourism is huge...Christ we gave the world most of the inventions we use everyday.... TV/Phone etc.
I think it would be good to have free Scotland to make all our own laws etc..As for the moment their is no real point to the Scottish Parliment TBH.
