I'm looking for some ideas of how i can use whiteboards and using a PC one to one with children aged 7 - 11.
Please don't ruin the thread! I've had 2 interviews already and been turned down. One saying i was too quiet but did well and the other - a school i've worked in for 15 months which i dunno why as i was that shocked just ended the call. Yet they still want me to work there in my spare time but acceped 2 other students for the module. Takes the piss, and i'm wound so not doing nothing about it yet. Anyways, off for my tea, then going to find out where this other school is.
Anyway, topics as such:
Vocabulary = teach a wide range of ‘wow’ words, (ambitious vocabulary);
Connectives = teach a wide range of words and phrases for connecting thoughts, ideas, sentences etcetera;
Openers = teach a wide range of ways of opening sentences, including sequence words, linking words and phrases and the 3 power openers;
Punctuation = teach a wide range of punctuation.
Ideas much appreciated!

1st thing that comes to mind for using a pc would be animated examples and letting kids hear what the words sound like and how to be used in a sentence.
Although how effective this would be compared to a teacher doing it verbally I don't know.

Teach them the birds and the bees, using various videos aquired from t'internet. www.empornium.us has a good selection.

I've just done phonemes with my year 2's - matching sounds that feature in words to a picture; for sentence starters - give them a sentence without the starter and let them work it out, using a hide and reveal set up; erm feel free to u2u me, as I'm trying alsorts with my class using the smartboard, etc!
