Very blustery here, rain last night, cooled off to about 18'c.
Im heading off to the North tomorrow by coach. Whangerai to be exact where im staying in a Hostel called Bunk Down Lodge. The bloke who runs it seems a right laugh, i'll be there for 7 days then im looking for some farm work for 6 weeks and over the Xmas / New Year bit, should be lovely and warm up there because its Tropical. Hope to do some sailing and snorkelling on the reef too. Only 1 week into my travels so far, bout 70 weeks left
Theres some fit birds around Auckland, very lovely Asian chicks too, and not a lady boy in sight, although theres been a couple of caucasion trannys about, WTF!!!
Hope all is good there everyone,
Ben.

Storms blew through Auckland taking loads of trees with it before I left - gusts of up to 160kph!
Ive just got back from caving at Abbey Caves - was wicked, waist deep in freezing water full of eels and about 40m underground. Caves are full of Glow worms though and when you look up at the cave roof its like the night sky, incredible! We didnt even have a guide, just 5 of us went for it and im so glad we did. Wicked experience.
About 23'C up where I am now, sun shining, might hit the beach tomorrow. Im gonna book onto a snorkelling trip, full day out, in the bay of islands and costing about 40 quid, not bad at all.
NZ rocks.

Now in Paihia in the northerly bit, went to some thermal pools today, they bubble away at about 40'C and you covr yourself in mud and sit in them, they are supposed to have healing properties but I doubt it, they do chill you out and make you feel young again though, they were pretty amazing. Going sailing on a huge schooner in a few days, get the chance to kayak and swim with dolphins, and fish into the sunset.
Should be good, was on the beach the other day, picking up a great tan!

Been a full loop round the far north now, too much to write about!
Been to some of the best beaches ive ever seen in my life. One hostel I was staying in was on the oppostie pavement of the cleanest most beautiful beaches ever. Most mornings I used to walk onto the beach when I woke up, picked fresh mussells off the rocks, took them back and cooked them up. Imagine doing that at Blackpool!
Saw a bloody big tree too, here's what was written about it...
quote: It is 51 metres (169 feet) in height, and has a circumference of 13.8 metres (45 feet). There is no proof of the tree's age, but it is estimated to be between 1250 and 2500 years old.
As for the photos, I dont have too many as yet because I havent got any films developed. Here are a few though.

I head further South tomorrow, looking forward to it.
Ben.
