I guessed that but just wanted to check in case - i know there was one for sale on here a few months ago
Also looking at a L200 or Navara if anyone has any experience of these

My dad had the 1.8 for a bit, no torque whatsoever, used to stall in reverse, I can only assume that the TD4 is better. Didn't keep it long enough for anything to go wrong. Was good car while we had it.

I've been told to think about getting a 4x4 for this new job as I will have to help out with towing occasionally (for trade shows etc) so was looking at those three. I've heard bad reports on the smaller engined freelanders but the TD4 seems* to have good all round figures and reports

the 1.8 petrol engine are a rover engine, prone to headgasket failures, done 3 in about 2 months. the td4 i beleive is a bmw engine and are good engines

my dad had one and the engine blow up twice - bare in mind hes 45 and doesnt drive fast!
He would strongly advise agansit one

what about Jeep Grand Cherokees - didnt realise how much they've come down in value - 2002 4.0 one with all the tricks and gadgets, 41000 miles up for under £7500

I hate driving my mums freelander personally, sounds worse than most diesels, dont like the gearbox or the tiny powerband.
It does feel robust and well put together right enough which suits her with the kids.

ive had a freelander 1.8 was the biggest bag of shit ive ever had it fell to peices but i beleive the series 2 td4 is a good car
