Good little bikes those. IMO, the Mito was always better than the RS as its much rarer to find and is very similar in handling and performance.
Unfortunatly, Italy also make the best bikes... That break down or cost loads to maintain

Yea, had to rebuild the carb on my RX about 4 times. The front suspension needed re-building under a year after buying the bike... Other than that it was alright.

Claire says if I get a bike then she gets one which deffo aint happening, it takes her to go a push bike safely never mind a motorbike
Stus bike is the exact one I was goin for the VFR, (NC30) I take it???
I looked at a few RFV's (NC35) but they are a bit pricey still
Yea need to meet up sometime, would be good to see you again

What a load of cock, the Mito was always playing catch up with the RS, the handling compared with the RS is good awful as well, the weight on the Mito is badly distributed due to the fact the petrol tank is actually in the back of the bike, the 7 speed gearbox is made out of jelly and is pathetic, the gears are so short and no partically gear has any kind of power.
The looks of the Cagiva are ok, but if you put a RS and Mito side by side one looks like exactly what it is, a 125 the other looks and rides like a bigger bike.

On second thoughts I could be wrong about the tank, I'm sure the Derbi GPR and Cagiva were the same though, maybe the 125 has a real petrol tank where its supposed to be and the 50's are in the back.
Even so the Cagiva Mito 125 I rode was cack compared to the RS125.

What a load of cock ,the handling was never playing catch up i can remember quite a few reviews about both bikes and it was always a 50/50 split with the test riders. the cagiva usually had better times on a good solid lap(hardly anything in it tbh) and handling on track but put it on the road and the RS crept forward due to having to work the cagivas gearbox hard to keep up with the RS through traffic and it was always these two bikes that lead the 125 class (i had a tzr125 rgv125 and an nsr125 when i was younger but couldnt afford either the mito or rs and always dreamt about owning 1 one day :lol i have however drove both and would say that in my opinion on the road there is nothing in it at all only that the rs put a lot of weight on my wrists and that they got sore very quickly, both bikes are great wee screamers but on looks i do think that the mito is the daddy of the 125s ( look what it copied )
oh and yeah the cagiva does have a normal petrol tank
the RS and mito were the only 125s i had allowed her to buy

Don't agree rustyanus, I've riden both and the Cagiva doesn't fill me with confidence appoaching bends at speed, the front wheel feels far to light.
The 50cc must have the petrol tank in the back then.

Mito's were always more common around my area.
Mate and his brother had either or and although the rs is slightly more refined and made a bit better they both said the mit gave more confidence into corners.

No way, they can't be riding them hard enough the Mito was terrible in corners.

maybe you just drove a crap bike
sorry but i tend to trust the opinions of magazine test riders who have been riding bikes for years both on track and on the road to know what they are talking about
each to there own though
