Why are they so stingy when it comes to selling cars in the uk?

I mean im scanning all these brochures in and the amount of "Sat nav not available in UK" or "Heated leather not available in UK" etc etc is unbelievable, is it just the typical case of greedy uk dealers again?

i think its just so they can rape the uk market and make more money on the cars IMO.

lots of cars also come with tc abroad but not available on any models in the UK.

my megane coupe for example

also the leon cupra on the continent had a haldex 4wd system

what do we get? a crappy electronic controlled TCS system

they will have evaluated the market, and seen that it was not commercially viable to convert the Leon 4x4 to RHD, for such a small market segment.

same reason that the Golf G60 was not brought over, and the VR6 Syncro etc.

infact, maybe the haldex stuff wouldnt even fit an RHD shell.

it's probably due to them not wanting to compete with the s3. not that it could of to be fair.

Always thought the 4 wheel drive Cupra was based on the mk4 golf V6 4 motion

I'll be honest i was guessing, but come to think about it, i doubt they use the quattro system so probably is based on golf.

I think this post is a little redundant here as Vauxhall would offer nav and heated leather here as they do elsewhere in the world.

I would think its down to cost. Perhaps niche low volume cars have some drawbacks afterall.

I think the only thing I can't get on my Fiat is heated seats, can only get them in Scandanavia. Hate them anyway so it doesn't bother me. Fiat are good at slapping on loads of extras that break quickly though...

it's been like that for years though, its definitely not a 2006 thing.

like i say, the market isn't there, or they'd offer the option here.

It's like that in any field of products too. Always has been, always will be. Companys are there to make money, not to make 10 people in one country happy for 2 years while they HP a car off of them.
