Mate at work has got one as a courtesy car, brand new 12 miles on the clock, its a Life model in silver.
Outside, err far to high up needs to come down a couple of inches. Front lights are far far far far far to big for the car, other than that looks ok. 7/10
Inside, have Vauxhall decided to downgrade the quality of their interior plastics in the Corsa? Seriously how cheap can you possibly get? Especially the bit of plastic covering the boot panel. Dash etc are nice well laid out, roof inside is low down like a Coupe and the way you sit etc is EXACTLY the same as the new Astra, seats even in the life model are very comfy and very supportive. The thing that impressed me most was the clunk when you shut the door, nice solid clunk.
I think its upgrade from the C but overall neither the C or D have been put together as well as the B was.
Overall I give this model a 7/10.

I'd tend to agree, bloke down street has got one, silver blends in very much with the yaris it's parked next to.
Lights r wrong but it's OK nothing groundbreaking or amazing.

yeah I thought the SXi felt quite well put together and nice use of materials. wouldnt go as far as saying I thought it was worth twice as much as it cost. they are a bit of a rip off

ive sat in one at the motorshow, cant remember what model i was. Dash seemd nice, designed well.
I wasnt a fan of the driving position but all little cars are the same now due to the pedestrian crash laws. You sit so far from the windscreen very odd sensation.
Looks wise i love the rear end, gorgeous
Front looks nice from a distance, then you get the scale on those lights so so so big.
Other than that looks cool, i reckon the VXR will be ace

I work at a vauxhall dealership and nearly all have come back with complaints with the progressive power steering
the are intermittantly failing and vauxhall are still working on a solution
The handbrakes have had a rework to stop the mounting leaving the body
and on a 3dr the window trim on the rear window has to be cut as it reacts with the heated window bars
just a few teething problems, maybe rushed the out to compete with the new clio etc
vxr corsa is on hold until they develop the power of the z16let out of the meriva around the clio's power figures
vauxhall seem to be obssesed with being on top of the power list

i dont think this is necessarily a good thing, building a car that has the most power is one thing, but building it so it can use that power is another

I know what you mean look at the top gear times when they had the focus, megane and astra
megane had the least power but handled the best
same will prob happen with the clio and corsa

yeah i get the impression vaux thinking that by fitting a torsion bar its going to instantly handle
my problem is i dont trust vauxhall enough to produce something truly class leading
there will be something wrong, somewhere

Sat in one at the car show:
Was impressed with the interior size, it's a lot more like sitting in a big car and seems like everything has been lifted out the facelift Vectra. A really long journey in a powerful (1.4, 1.6 etc maybe even diesel) will not be such a chore.
I hate sitting so far from the windscreen - Toyota Corolla Verso has to be the worst for this.
I like the design, modern and you can see where they got the idea from the Astra etc. All cars in the same class now look like each other. Anyone noticed the latest lot of vans Ford, Mercedes, Iveco, Peugot etc all look the same.
Hopefully it will handle great, something which has been lacking from the standard Corsa's of B and C so I've read.
The VXR should be impressive.
I also agree with thoughs about saying power isn't everything. Me and Dad had a chat with a Honda guy at the motor show about the new Type R. It is going to be naturally aspirated (unlike Focus, Astra) using methods which are far beyond my knowledge to put down. I also like the look in white!
Anywone see the Vectra VXR on Top Gear. Clarkson would turn the steering wheel and nothing would happen, still goes in a straight line - I hope to god the Corsa VXR isn't like that otherwise even more of them will be crashed.
