I got the 250Hz blue neon one, its great fun, very much a pick it up and then put it down and leave it til you see it shimmering in the darkness again and fetch it out.

They're quite heavy, wouldn't advise throwing them

Melville, as Tiger said, you hold it in your hand and get it going using circular wrist movements. It gradually gets faster and faster and can help with arthritic pains etc..

it's not the sort of thing you will do for hours on end unless of course you had an wrist or hand injury perhaps, then it has another use.

I don't and just wanted to see how fast I could do it. Haven't touched it in about a year
