Basically my Lupo is costing me too much money a month (what with the finance, petrol, insurance etc) so thinking of selling it and getting something a bit older/cheaper to run. Think is I cant really think what
Would ideally like something quite nippy, looks ok standard, not too old, and fairly good on insurance.
Things that have sprung to mind so far are:
Polo GTi
106 GTi
MK4 Golf GTi
Saxo VTS
Anything else I should consider

Your lupo (one of the smallest lightest cars available on the market) is costing too much to run, so your going to buy a bigger car, with e bigger engine (in the case of the golf), and think that'll be better?
Am I missing something? .

My Lupo is also costing me £200 p/m on finance, and over £70 p/m on insurance, so thats £270ish before I even drive it. With it being a GTi its not really that great in Petrol, costs me about £25ish a week.
Thats what I want to reduce/stop paying.

What lupo?? GTi??
Will you be able to buy the other car outright?? Insurance will probably still be around the same.

Yeah GTi mate.
Would be looking to try pay as much of the new car off as possible yeah. If I cant pay it off in full then at least I can reduce the total monthly payments leaving me more money to play with. Will also be getting another years NCB soon so that should bring the insurance down as well.

Why not get a Mk2 GTi & pay the insurance off all at once...then you only have the petrol to worry about each month!!
