Make sure you find one with decent interior!

My mate got one with 17" Wheels which i hate and a boring Dynamique interior!

just got rid of a sport, nice car to look at, very quick and good handling. bad build quality, creaky interiors, bad road noise. eats wheel bearings, cv joints and top mounts. and you have to take off the inlet to get at the spark plugs!

i was looking at getting one until i read this :http://www.carsurvey.org/review_46168.html

though it was for a mk1 172 so the mk2 onwards might be different, until that review i was hearing nothing but good things about them

am i not right in sayin that every 172, 182 and cup came with half leather/alcantara interior??

also dont know if they are anything in comparison but i used to have a clio 16v 1.8 and again as scottyevo has mentioned the build quality was crap, rattles and bangs everywhere, also, although the engine seemed bombproof everything else fell apart around it!!

I test drove one and hated it TBH

Got slated on here for saying but IMO i didn't rate it at all.I was driving a BMW 323i Coupe when i went here so maybe i was expecting too much.

Driving position was awful..The Clutch is fuking stupid! Bite is well to high and it's too snatchy. When i did a standing start the wheel was fighting itself out of my hands but with 172 bhp through the front wheels that's what you get.I much prefer 4 wheel drive and rear drive when a car's got more than 150 brake.

One thing i will say the handling was nothing short of awsome! I chucked it into a roudabout and it was glued to the road! Felt like the front wheels were nailed down and never felt unstable.Felt like my old AXGT from years back.

I think for the money if your a young lad there isn't much better for the money but i'd much rather have an all round package and a car that can use all it's power.

To clear things up, the 172 cup comes with the standard cloth 'dynamique' intrerior, lower front spoiler and Speedline Turini alloys. I believe they only come in blue, silver and red as standard and offer a lower, stiffer sports suspension over the standard 172 variety.

Personally I'd go for a full fat 172. These are the ones that come with standard leather/alcantara trim, xenon headlamps and flat 5 spoke alloys. The added suspension and spoiler pack was an option but tbh most people opted for them!

Hope this helps
