A certain production run of them for a couple of years had a Nikasil bore liner that corroded with the sulphur in the fuel. Alot of the blocks were replaced with the newer Alusil lined blocks. Its the M52 engine that was affected and some V8's. Post 98' cars had the Alusil block fitted from the factory, thats why i made sure i got a 98' when i bought mine.

close call tbh


Astra is newer and a very very nice car.


BMW is RWD and the 328i's are great cars.


But its 11years old.......................
