so been planning in the last few weeks. basically the options are:

Option1: sell corsa (1.2 8v 5dr) and buy a new car for approx £7-8K max engine 1.6/1.8

Option2: keep corsa and start a winter project that would be a nice kit car (caterham sytle) and a mate of mine (rotary engine specialist) convinced me to put an rx7 engine in it. (engine would be rebuilt totally before)

any other suggestions welcome.

rover v8 isnt "that" light, weight is about the same as a crossflow or a pinto iirc

weighing as much as a crossflow or a pinto give a good power to weight ratio i assume. you still think rotary engine is better?

Get rotary engine in it. They weigh bugger all and make reasonable power.

It's all alloy Jimbo. It's very light for anything, never mind a V8. It weighs less than a Pinto. And a crossflow is a tiny little engine that is remarkably light for something made of cast iron.

if it is on any help, there's a book by hanes call 'build your own sports car for as little as £250 - and race it! ' its really cool. but exagerated at the same time. but could build one with £1000 if u do the work yourself

been on a kit car builders forum and was told that the rx7 engine is very light. performancewise probabbly sub 4sec 0-60 and 1/4 mile 11-12sec..... it would be amazing to get that!
also if the engine is rebuilt before, has enough cooling, and is serviced regularly (due to oil)... it should be ok

(all the above according to the guys on the forum)
