Not related to a corsa, but use to have one few years bk.
IM now driving a 414 rover
its got problems
Firstly, its pi##ing water.
and over heating
First i thought this was the headgasket
untill i took it for its mot, and it failed..the guy noticed the leak
the guys bled the pipes and the it took around 8 litres of warter! and stop overheating...hot air was blowing nicely inside aswell, which it wasnt b4.
Ive been quoted £150 for a new water pump fitted, and thell do the new belt (of course)
Ive been driving it quite a bit with not alot of water in it though, and im worried this could have caused the gasket to go...but there no way of telling...there no oil coming from the gasket area btw.
I hope its just the engine tht aint gettng enough water.
my question is, could a lack of water cause damage to the gasket? Im worried ill stop the leaks, and it will still over heat.Any advice (except scrapping the thing lol) would be very helpful...as i need to get this on the road to sell it, for a bond for my new flat.

Just cos there is no oil leaking from the gasket area doesn't mean it's not fucked internally and mixing oil and water.
Yes a lack of water could cause overheating and therefor knacker your headgasket.
Sounds like you should get it running as best as possible and chuck it on the eBay, cut your loses and get something else.
