As above car is being picked up and scrapped tomorrow, though what do i need to fill in on the V5?

i was thinking of just signing and dating the yellow section - number 9? is this correct?

read it, it tells you EXACTLY what to do on there AFAIK

well the yellwo bit is for selling /transferring ownership. doesn't really mention scrapping.

i wouldn't ask but they are picking it up whilst i'm at work....

Yes this is what the yellow bit is i'm pretty sure, just want to do it properly so it's all above board etc and i'm not liable

i have also removed the VIN plates

they fill fill in the yellow bit and sign it, and YOU send it to dvla, address is on the back

theres a bit on it where its a box with scrapped wrote next to it,you tick the box i think and send it away

If its a new style reg doc you want section 6, new keeper name, bottom of that bit there's a tick box and date boxes to indicate that the new keeper is the racetrack in the sky.
