402 is the capacity in Cubic Inches. it will be a v8.

6.6 litre small block.
small block means it'll be the same sort of size as a ford V6, smaller then the Rover one iirc.

cheap engines for what they are, amazingly easy to rebuild, cheap parts, easier to tune than rover v8s

B, look in the edition of PPC you have, there's a bloke who wants to make a V8 scimitar (i think) in the letters page, they tell you the pro's and cons of the small ford v8 there (although they mention the 302, but its the same block afaik)
