You can get a turbo kit from MVaux.
http://www.mvaux.com/
These are apparently good quality. It is the same kit as the one Hostyle sell on E-Bay, comes from the same people. You can PM him through MigWeb. His user name is Matheus. You would be best off purchasing the turbo kit, lower compression pistons (instead of double gaskets) and management to run it. There's also the strength of the engine to take ito consideration. I reckon you would be looking at about £2000 to do.

It is something that i would like to do as well. As said, the kit is available, but it's the changing of pistons and management that's the ballache.
An X16XET would be a minter though. Different from the usual C20Xe and LET's that people use.

I'd rather have a 1.6 on TBs personally.

Me too, never been a fan of hybrid turbo conversions. You always hear of them not running properly and the engine bay ends up looking a mess.

i put a post up about this not long ago and 90% of people said go with throttle bodies due to a turbo and a x16xe not going together as far as reliability goes.

£800 for a LET engine conversion Fool.
If you do the LET conversion properly then it would probably cost the same as converting the 1.6 properly, maybe without standalone management, or perhaps using Megasquirt and building the ECU and loom yourself.

WTF only a fool would pay a grand an a half for a LET, you can buy a running calibra turbo for £1000-1500 then break it and easily cover your costs of conversion parts.
Anyone who thinks they can properly turbocharge a 1.6 for this money is having a laugh.
