Looking at taking out aa membership because I'm about to buy a renault. lol

Just wondering has anyone here got the option that has 'relay' on it. Just wondering what your experiences are with it.

Cheers for any info..

I have AA home-start, relay and breakdown assist.

whats the relay bit? is that the thing where they take you to your home or desternation? as i also need to take out a membership as i will be doing alot of miles over the coming months.
Dont know whether to go RAC or AA though might get both and race them to see who gets there first

Shop around for cover tbh Family was with the AA for years and they were becoming a complete rip off, plus the card could only be registered with named car. So went to RAC a few years back, a lot cheaper, same package and card is registered to the holder rather than the car so can use it where ever - very useful

so you would have to inform the aa when you changed your car and that?

you would have to inform eitherway - but you cover what ever car you're in, with the RAC. Useful when your out with family and someone forgets there card, or friends etc

Dom is incorrect, they'll (the AA) come out to the card owner. they dont have you car details on file and dont require them to do work on the car.

You can use your card on any car even if it isnt yours

with the AA, unless it was my car they didnt want to know - had it happen a few times - one of the reason why we changed.
The RAC dont seem to care, just as long as the card holder has the card and is there

BTW I heard once (maybe on here) that someone needed a car to be delivered/moved but had no insurance on it so they called the AA to tow them 'home' (where the car needed to go) and slashed the tires.
