It will get varied driving as i drive two and from work everyday, which is roughly 20miles a day, it will just be possibly half the miles will be done on the motor way.

cheers though!!

just having problems keeping it cool at the minute!!!

Well chuffed overall though as it feels so much nicer than it was before!! Like a decent engine finally!!!

It was not direct mate!!! Bucko and the lads went back to Gavin Bakers! and he was well goin on about his car, and bucko said it still wont beat rich's then he began to explain how much of a quality driver he is and how good his gear changes are??????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????

It's that standard as f00k vectra they have, it has now been extensivly modified apparently!!!!! he reckons he has a short shifter on there, so its added about 150bhp? apparently its better than NOS?

He also recked he would beat most people in a 100meter sprint???? if he can then he must be the fastest 5ft 10" 18stone runner in the world!

Had my car back since sunday, doen 100 miles and guess what has fcukin happened!

The head gasket has failed!!!

I am absolutly fumin with the mechanic/Mate that done it, so i fooked him off without any payment for the complete engine rebuild! I am a bit gutted as we were pretty good mates, but he has let me down twice big time now, and i normally feel bad saying anything but then i realised...... Its me getting the short straw everytime i do that!!!! He even had the nerve to send me a message giveing it the a55hole, how i am being a cnut???? to be honest i think he reacted the way he did becuase he new he had done a bollock on my car!

So now me & My old man are going to strip it and get everything checked, then i am looking for someone else to help me put it back 2gether! have had two offers already, but i jusy thought i would keep my options open, so if anyone would like to help me it would be much appreciated! obviously i will have some cash too pay someone with, but i have been left short now as i just spent £500 on parts for the rebuild, and the mechanic was supposed to be doing me a favour.....But ended up just cnuting me over!!!

I will never b doing busness with mates again!

Lee - what does a pourous head mean?

willay - well when i told him it was not right he told me he was busy for a bit as he had spent ages doing mine!!! Tbh he has never done my car right, like putting two z20let gaskets on, with out drilling out the waterways etc etc I just dont trust him to do a good job, so i have not paid him and i am going elsewhere!

To make efficient use of the water and oil, they must NEVER mix. If it does then the effectiveness of each liquid falls, which results in a failed engine. Because the head is cast at manufacture with the coolant and oil veins inside, everything should be OK. Unless there is a defect in the material or the casting process. The common failure is either cracks or the metal goes porous. If a head goes porous it means that the cast metal allows liquid to past through walls. Which means liquids can mix inside. It is caused by the Cylinder Head allowing oil, under normal operating pressure, to seep from the main oil gallery to the water jacket, but not the reverse. This is because the oil pressure is higher than the water pressure

I have had the head at the machineists and they did a full recondition and check and told me once they had finished that the head was mint!!

does that rule this out?

it should of been pressure tested it if they checked it.if the head bolts have been over tightened they can cause it to go pourous. what symptoms have u got mate?

No its not the lad i am actually on about? its just one of mates? he always posts b3nt things on my posts, He used to pretend to be a mechanic himself but then he got fired for using the garage on sundays for his Secret personal G@y dogging club (I did not attend or have any involvement in these) I found out when he lost his linence for driving whilst watching his home made G@y dogging movies on his playstation 2 and 7.2" in car screen. (i read it in the newspaper )

On a more serious note, i have just found out from my old man that the reason i have the probelm i am having is because the lad stripped one of the threads on the block! Apparently he would have known and gave it me back anyway!!!

Well from what i have found out it is going to be anothoer head of Jobbie! Bollox!! new i should have got a head stud kit the first time, this is the third time now!!

at least i now know what the problem is! i was looking into buying myself a golf instead and fooking of the corsa off all together as it has so for just been a complete nightmare
