Usually a re map. Possibly a differant fuel pump.

so if you used something similar to phase chips for whatever car you were converting this would solve the problem?
red that you also need to change the fuel filter, something to do with the nozzel size??

Quite possible yeah, I know you either run octane booster to match the higher fuel rate or you get the car remapped to safely run on the lower octane rating.

About £400-600 going by what I've read, which usually includes rolling road set up.

ok mate thats great help will look into it.apart from the fuelling any other mods to pass sva test, so far no of fog lighting, speedo and have been advised to look into under seal for corosion issues

An e-mark means it is approved in the UK and has met certain compliance to ECE regulations.
Basically it's safe.
