Ok here's the story.

2 Weeks ago i bought some front speakers for my corsa and had them fitted by halfords. They Worked Fine.

1 week Later i took my car to a garage to have an alarm and a immobiliser fitted.

Half way threw fitting these things the man at the garage rang me up and said that he took the cover off from the bottom of the steering wheel and found a wire that was burnt, He recommened that he removed the wire before something serious could happen. I said fine go ahead.

Next day i get the car back, Turn my car on but the head unit didnt turn on... The man obviosly removed the wire that goes from the stereo to the ignotion.

So the Head unit doesnt turn on when i turn my car on, and it doesnt turn off when i turn the car off. So, i thought Oh Well i cant live with that.

2 days later i get in my car, turn the stereo on and put a cd in. For some reason the music isnt getting to the speakers and no sound is coming out.

But, as i slammed my right door the music come on? Maybe a Loose wire or connection?

So i turned my stereo off and turned it back on.. Same happens again, no music..

So i tried slamming my left door... Nothing happens.. Tried slamming my right door and then the music comes back on again.

So i thought, Hey! i can live with that...

Got into my car the next day, same happens again, so i slam my right door and the music comes on.. But only from the left hand side speaker? The front LEFT speaker and the back LEFT speaker works fine, but the right hand side doesnt come on.

I havnt touched any of the balance options on the stereo so i know for a fact that i havnt set the music to only come out of the left speakers.

Right now im completly confused about what the F**k is happenening, and im tempted to take it back down the garage and demand that they sort it out.

Does anyone know what the hell is happening?

if halfords used the autoleads speaker adaptors mate
but the vaux plug off and the autoleads adapter and join and solder the joints then tape them up

the vaux connecter is pish and the autoleads conctor that goes into it is worse

loose the connectors and have the wires joined directly to each other and solder'd properly

i know cos every time ive used those connectors hoping they would work ive always ended up doing the above a week or so later

I wouldn't solder the wires either.
It's a right pain in the arse when you buy a car somebody has done that in.

It's not hard at all.
Its a pain in the arse.
And most people who have soldered anything at all in behind the stereo just cut it all to remove the headunit.
