i know ones a turbo and one's not but whats different engine wise.

pistons, valves, upper bit of the manifold, injectors, exhaust manifold, ECU, LET has extra oil pipes for the turbo, engine code

so you couldn't turn a c20xe into a c20let by changing all the parts like manifold, turbo, pistons, valves

just need to make an oil return on the block and put let pistons in . let heads incl valves are the same as an xe so ive been told.. only cams are different .

i wasnt sure about the valves, i thought they might be the same

the difference are pistons, exhaust cam,turbo, return hole (only needs drilled out,wiring loom ,ecu, boost control system, throttle body, top hat, plugs

you can turn an xe into an let yes.

Mine was a converted XE, or at least had an XE bottom end

yep course you can convert them, like jambo says, sure lee's done a few, or his let is a converted xe

Unreliable it had teething problems as did every other conversion IIRC.

The only non-sensor related issue it ever had was turbo seals going, which on an engine estimated to have done 80k+ is normal


Car was never unreliable, but if done again i would buy a new loom and all new sensors!

yes but why would you want to? XE cost to buy about 250-350 LETs are what £1k?
