Hi,
I recently bought a mini moto dirt bike! Took it out for the first time last night and there is a problem, basically I put some fuel in but noticed it dripping out of the overflow pipe underneath, anyway. Started it and took it for a spin and it was fine. But next time I tried to start it, I couldnt. The engine had flooded.
So... Took the spark plug out and dried it off, drained excess petrol and then started it up again. But it flooded again.
Is there a little adjuster somewhere to stop as much fuel going in as it seems to be overfuelling and flooding!
Any help would be great

it shouldn't flood if you turn the petrol tap off when your not using it

Ok, well the thing is. when i put the petrol in, and turn the tap on, it immediately starts to drip out of the overflow pipe?

Mine does this but only sometimes.
Its never flooded the engine though

Carb off.
Your float is stuck, comment prob, just take the bottom of the carb off, take out, clean, re-insert, job done.
You should turn the fuel tap off when you turn it off or it'll leak.

Cool, Sorry to sound stupid as I have no clue about bikes! So is it just a few screws to take the carb off? And what part do i clean exactly, and what is this float you speak off?
Again apologies for my complete lack of knowledge!

the float closes off the inlet for the petrol, well should do. as said normally unscrew the bottom of the carb and give it a clean. wont be anything complicated.
had to strip a carb off a dt50 once and that was self explanatory so you should piss it :-)

AS said, there are two screws at the bottom of the carb holding a little "pot" type bit at the bottom. UN-screw and take this off, it'll leak fuel everywhere for a second (as it is a float in a pool of petrol basically). Inside it'll be empty bar the float. Remove it, clean it, put it back in so it doesn't stick, screw back together, fuel tap on, fire it up, off you go.

^^^ spot on, i did mine the other week, cos there pritty cheep you can never get the fueling spot on and they always leek abit of fuel. Mines had better pipes/ fuel filter etc to try and stop it leaking fuel which helps but iv still got to shut the fuel off as soon as i stop using it.

it might not be the float, the little needle what holds on to the brass 'C' shape lever above the float sticks. i had this. it kept leaking out the overflow. you might need a new one.
if you clean the float and it still does it, buy a whole new carb. there only a tenner off fleabay.
