had me quite worry'd for a bit
coming home from work, gets to top of my road i slow down and go for 2nd.
not there erm shit
goes for 1st gets it so i trundle up the road still trying for 2nd, still not there gets half way up my drive and stalls "propbably was in 5th or 3rd"
so get tools out jacks it up to see if the linkage had slipped off, nope solid
i lift up the gaiter to see if anything is amiss in there, nope all fine
when goin for reverse 1st 2nd and 5th it made a meltal clinky sound and 2nd and 4th were nowhere to be found
after poking around at it some more i thought the transmission tower had gone due to noises it was making
looked at it a bit longer and thought the "c" shaped bit of the lower linkage had a extra lump in it
put full lock on and sure enuff there was sommit that shudnt have been there
fished it out
cant belive what it is
the bracket that bolts to the engine using the starter mounting bolt that hold the clutch cable in place had shaered off went accross the top of the linkage and got under the lower part of the linkage
maddness how its sheard as its a non moving unstressed piece of steel but has sheared clean off
anyway fixed now, just need a new clutch cable bracket
