your amp should turn off when the headunit turns off if you have your remote wire connected properly,

if you have the remote wire on a permenant live then put a switch in this wire and that will turn the amp off, you can put any switch into the remote wire

I put a 12v isolator switch on the live from the battery to the amp, and mounted it under the dash

I dont understand why you'd want to do this? As said above, as long as you have a remote wire, the amp will turn off when the headunit turns off anyway.

Ok, your best bet is to use a high current relay. This way it will automatically close the "switch" when you either start your engine or turn the key.

What amps are you running? If you've got a lot of power, you'll need something like this:

http://cpc.farnell.com/jsp/endecaSearch/partDetail.jsp?SKU=CP02901&N=411

An easy way to see how much current you need is to look at what fuses you have on your amps and add their ratings together. You then need a 12v relay that can handle that amount of current.

You'll connect your power cable from the battery to one of the big terminals, and then a power cable from the other big terminal to you amps/cap.

The smaller terminals are what "closes" the "switch" and makes the circuit. If there is 12v accross those smaller terminals, the main circuit is on, if there isn't, it's off.

Now you need to find a 12v wire that is on when you turn the key. I'd recommend NOT using the remote from your headunit because i'm not sure about the resistance accross those terminals and it may draw too much current and damage your headunit. use the switched live from the ignition (cant remember if it's the red or yellow wire now, not owned a corsa for years!)

Hope that helps
