i need to get the best rate around for my holiday spends. heard the post office is good but is anywhere better??
also will need to get travellers cheques done. what amounts should i get??
am going florida for 14 days, have approx £1500 spends for both of us.

i figured that i would overspend if i use my cards, and found when i used it in ibiza last year the conversion was horrific from the bank. would prefer to know i have x amount to spend left, and have spent x amount if you know what i mean.

Cards normally have charge of 1.5-2% if you buy something not in GBP.
The best place ive always found is the post office. They had the best rate of anyone both times i went to the US. Just dont buy the money on a card either since the charges above will apply, get them with cash.

post office dont charge commission when changing it to dollars or the other way round. Your bank can sometimes do it too for no commission depending on your account type.

Post office don't charge commision but give you a lower rate than other places.
travelex have been cheapest every time i've needed it.

Not for me, PO gave me a better rate than all the bank/travel places on the high street when i was looking. Maybe all the others are just cheap here
