I would of thought there would be a lot of work to be done outside 9-5 hours if your an instructor

In the initial learning period yes, but once you know the material - things wont change (much) unlike school teachers where syllabus' are constantly changing. Could be wrong tho, as Im only guessing

Hmm things change a bit but only over long periods of time. Eg neither of my parents had heard of block changing and got pissed off at me when I changed from 4th-2nd, saying it's wrong etc, now I passed doing it and my old man does it

Mate who's just come out the army is doing it, you have to pay to learn and do the tests (couple of K i think) I would go with a big one like bsm for a bit then set-up on my own after a year or so. Bloke round the corner did the same thing but he just teaches in auto's nice little niche - he makes a wedge by the looks of it

Am I right in thinking that if you learn/pass test in an auto then you can only drive an auto (unless you retake in a manual)?

he's out alot...Mostly weeknights to tie in with the pupils.
