i counted 18. that kid needs to get a job

I would rather lose by a mile because i built my own car, than win by an inch because someone else built it for me.

they make a fortune in America, you've seen how much Tony Hawk is from skateboarding, and all those from BMXing...these make just as much over there.

You are comparing Tony Hawk, who is the biggest name, to a nobody. I know a couple of pro skiers. They don't getpaid fuck all. But then they don't pay to do the thing that they love the most. You have to be in every DVD, on every poster, on every magazine cover to get any cash out of your sponsors. Then the only real way you can make money is by winning comps. You then have to be pretty damn good to get into the comps which pay out big, and even better to win them.

Several of my friends that I used to skateboard with have gone on to skate pro. There sponsers pay competition entry fees, clothing and equipment (obviously), any accomodation and other than that - a very minimal wage tbh.

Its only when you have computer games, videos and cults named after you when you hit the big bucks.

I know Tony Hawk was an exaggerated example, but what Im saying is their is ALOT of money in those sports for the right people.

I dont know who this guy is, and I dont think any of you lot do either, but it doesnt mean in America/Japan he isnt one of the bigger pro-skaters who is earning a hell of alot of money.
