I've got the registration document for a private plate for the missus, i want to get a plate made up to put on the car as a suprise but when you get them made up it says you need proof of personal details, does this have to be the nominee as i want to get them made up?

Don't think so. Just take the V5 for the car and your Driver's Licence.

Just take her licence and the V5 documents, they should do it off those.

you can take your license and the v5, that will be fine

still waiting, and still don't know if they will turn up wrong so was going to go somewhere else and get them done, and have them to hang on wall or something if they ever turn up

You either need the V5 or the form you get from the DVLA when you change the reg, you cant get them made up with the reg documents themselves. I went thru this when i had my private plate.

got them done only needed the retention document and proof of my ID not the missus'
