Love the looks of the GSi in Arden Blue.

I think the GSi, JUST.
But id be happy with either, adiohead off here has a gorgeous gunmetal grey leon CR and it is super duper nice. Best colour too IMO
Im a tad of a vauxhall nut so id say the gsi. But the leon im guessing could be tuned far more than the Z20let

I have a soft spot for both!
I love the Leons in Grey and 5 doors is an advantage as I hate having to get out and let my mates in the back!
Haven't experience VAG yet either!

i'd actually have the Leon, shame its not a 3dr but the build quality and reputation should make up for that

For the Astra
Cheaper to buy??? (unsure)
Cheaper to run
Cheaper to fix if it goes wrong.
I personnally find the Leon shape dull, kinda like someones got a knife and just chopped the rear end of it off
Against:
Don't see many of either on the road
Std turbo is pushed at 290bhp odd on the astra, so if your wanting tuning, prob the leons better with the VAG unit.

spoken like a true vauxhall overalls prodojay (sp) there daimo.
Id go for the leon, Great engine with huge inexpensive tuning potential, best chassis on the golf platform, beefy brembos as standard.

really so 90 BHP gain - would love to see how much money you need to throw at
patrick on here has done loads including turbo upgrade and I don't think his is seeing 290 BHP

Cheaper to fix?? not in my experience, seat have been loads cheaper than my previous experiences with Vaux
£130 for some HT leads, £30 for 5 inches of vacuum hose, these are just typical vaux prices where seat
£20 for a whole splitter i bet the same at vaux would be over £100, £29 for Cupra logo mats, £50 mats are from vaux

A fair bit, well, if you go one of the "tuning companies " routes....
Sorry, just realised also, standard turbo gives up with less power than that, thats the uprated VXR turbo that runs out of puff around 300bhp..... Patrick, oooohhhh patrick
VAG engines are more expensive than Vauxhall engines.
SetH, don't understand? I haven't said my own opinion, i've just added a few facts about both??? Personnally, i wouldn't go for either car.

I prefer the looks of the Astra but the build quality of the leon..Also the tuning potential..
If I was offered the 2 I really don't know which one I would take, maybe just swaying towards Astra.
