Is it true that you can't buy/drink alcohol anywhere in Egypt i.e. at a holiday resort, or desination?

just got bk from sharm el sheik and could drink everywhere.
maybe in religious parts of the country u cant but im sure u can everywhere else. they even introduced their own brand of beer other year
