Hello, i was wondering what you think of this engine? Is it nakerd? Also what engine is it? x20xe?

I can have it for free the bloke says if i remove it.

mate you cant tell if its fucked from that pic. go and see it.... take the oil cap off and look for white gunk, look for oil leaks bla bla bla. some parts may be slightly damaged, but doesnt look beyond repair

(but obviously im just guessing seeing as the pic isnt much help)

Is it 2.0 or 1.8 Looks like the damge is all across on the gearbox side so engine should be ok and yes it s the x??xev engine!

2 reasons

1) it would be an arse, as the car is crushed round it

2) you wouldnt know if there was any hidden damage til you'd wasted time getting it out.

Yeah true, i mite just leave the engine and strip the rest of the vecy for parts. I was tempted by the engine like, but to much bother, plus looks like its been standing there a while.

thats not a 2.0 I dont think , 1.8.

Wouldnt buy it mate , your going to have heaps of trouble getting it out anyway

Could have the engine out comfortably in an hour, just cut the front slam panel etc away from it.

And yes it could be damaged it could be fine thats why its free its called a gamble!

Heres a pic of the oil filter off the 2.0l engine which i took out of the cally to put in my corsa.





130,000 miles an oil filter like that and its a cracking engine!

i was thinking more the fact that it seems to have destroyed the gearbox side, so the bolts might be snapped etc...

chin up rob it'll still be an arsehole to take out mate and chances are it could be screwed so it won't be worth the time. but if you're willing to gamble then go for it
