hi, i know the coscast head is the best one to go for, but if you get a gm head how do you know if its gone (or going) porous?

could get the galleries pressure tested, or just get them sleeved.

i knew mine was gone as there was oil in the header tank although this could also be a sign of the head gasket gone. I send my head to v-tuning who repaired it quickly for £150 including return post and not had any problems since. Sure there is a guy on mig or something that can do it for £40

just realised your talking about buying a head so you wont be able to see it running. If your not 100% sure I would get it done anyway as saves getting another head gasket
