I woke up quite early this morning, was pretty tired by 5ish so went to sleep. Apparently your body goes into a state of paralysis so you dont move around when your sleeping - or something. Anyway, I sort of woke up hour and half later(half asleep) but couldnt move for shit, I managed to turn to the side and fell asleep again, woke up and couldnt move at all, was quite knackering trying to move. when I eventually woke up it felt like someone whacked me round the head.
happened to anyone else?

i get this when you're trying to wake yourself up if a dream isn't going the way that you want it to.
when you're in semi sleep you can be dreaming yet end it and wake up on tap.
the bit where you're deciding to stop the dream you're concentrating really hard on it but can't move you're body for a few moments untill you snap out of it.
freaky but cool that you can control your own sleep.

Ive had it a couple of times. First time it was kind of combined with a really vivid dream that someone was sat on my chest, and I was trying to move my hands to punch him but I couldnt . Was really freaky.
Its called sleep paralysis and its when your brain wakes up before your body.

Ediy- from the above site- "In some cases, when hypnogogic hallucinations are present, people feel that someone is in the room with them, some experience the feeling that someone or something is sitting on their chest and they feel impending death and suffocation"
Thats exactly what happened to me!

Sleep paralysis, not fun.
Had it twice a few years back and did not enjoy it.
Quite terrifying. Feels like there is an ominous presence in the room watching you. You can't see it, but you know it's there.
You think you are wide awake and feel utterly exposed and vulnerable, and are completely unable to move or make a sound.
Nasty, very nasty.
