Had a go on my mates rotax max 125 the other day at a track in sittingbourne, was awesome 0-60 in 2.5 secs...top spped of 90 ish, and arse is about and inch off the floor!!
just wondering if anyone has any tips or advice when buying a go kart (prob be used)

Karts feel so fast because you're so close to the ground...although obviously I'm not doubting they are fast!

yeah, but thats half the fun, is a cheap form of motorsport, and that is no exageration 0-60 time as its basicly a tuned 125 motorcross engine...

My mates into it, his engine gets rebuilt every few races and I know it isn't cheap, fastest kart I drove was a 50cc one and that was quite rapid

I've been to Three Sisters in Wigan a few times and raced the twin-engined karts. Was good fun do 720 degree spins in the wet

Mates (brothers) are looking at getting back into it properely doing nationals. Decent 2 yr old rotax your looking at a grand then you need trailor or van etc. They both used to race in nationals at school and were pretty good. Never had a go of a rotax had a go of a few though and fuck me they're quick

This is more or less what i was expecting after looking on the bay etc, gonna go with my mate once more, and decdie for definate then.
wont be competing or anything, well just be for track days..

Gotta be worth a bit of fun

Although if you aren't tied to rotax closed box regulations why not get an r1 engined one

Speak to jr or half pint seem to remember they knew about these

check for logbok on rotax, look for servicing records and intervals, find out when it was last rebuilt, does the engine have tags on? does it come with spares, what condition is the kart in, chassis and engine, you can generally tell when looking at them if they have had a hard life.

Rotax can be bought for £600 - £2000 so look about.

Sittingbourne is my fav track used to love endurance races there
