if i buy a plate that is already on a retention certificate, how much do dvla charge to put it on a car? I know its 80 pounds if you just transfer it between cars, and its 25 pounds per year to keep it on retention

Its £25 to be added as a nominee on the retention certificate. This has to be processed by the DVLA, once you've been added the plate can then be assigned to your car.

I've done this a few times before.
