a decent head unit and set of good components will do the job, no need for the sub. Excessive weight in my eyes.

Cheers big eck... At the end of the day i'm not making my car into a track monster nor do i race around the streets, even if the system slowed my car by a second does it really matter. The truth is i dont feel it's made a difference and what's excessive weight in one persons eyes is a nice bassy note to another.

I don't listen to much drum and bass, so I guess that's fair enough

As reedy says, i'm happy with a decent set of uprated components. Sub's I've always thought of being what you had when you were 17 and thought it was cool driving around with the windows shaking.

each to their own.

I do like a good song once in a while but since i got the pug i just absolutely love the sound of the engine.
At the moment i only have the standard speakers with the standard tape player lol. I may get a cd player depends if i can be arsed im pretty happy with my pug as it is, im sure your the same with yours.
Also i dont go round racing in the streets if you were saying that ( i dont think you were but just to cover it ) i always save my play time for the track / quarter mile.

Lol, driving with the stereo blasting is definately not my style The sub came as part of a package, and if i do decide to sell it at a later date, it just means i'll maybe make some money as it would have made no difference to the price of the package. I could've had a different head unit thrown in but the one i already had was a good one hence the reason to saying yes to the sub. I may sell it at a later date if i get fed up but for now it does me

Yes that is very stereotypical. (is that a word?)

It's my opinion, nothing more. Loads of people have subs. I guess I just see lots of ICE as unnecisary weight in a car and cars that have music so loud that your ears bleed as a bit of an embarressment to their drivers.

Since I've tuned my car up a bit, I wouldn't want to counter act it by making my car heavier.

It's merely an opinion

i think there is a few people out there:
1: track slags
2: full on ICE people ( the ones with lots of subs )
3: like abit of both
