Right i might be starting a class of racing called 1450 hot rods, its like banger racing but a non contact version. What it is, is modified cars with engines upto 1450cc. i.e. a Corsa 1.4 bored out.
What im gonna do is get a old mini and put a corsa 1.4 engine in but i was wondering does it fit and can i change it from injection to carb
Heres a pic of 1 done already but i didnt ask the girl how she done it cos i didnt wanna look like a twat

obviously mine won't be this colour
Or would it be easier with a Nova 1.4 like this?

Looks too complicated Enter in stock hatch instead and save yourself alot of effort!

Sounds cool mate
er. butler mate stock hatch would be a fair old amount more costly. Whats the fee per race for stock hatch
plus needing a £500 license.

the only thing with that sort of racing though is RWD is always good as you can drift it round the bends

Stock hatch race fees are around £150 generally. License is £50 plus the ARDS test which is around £300. Cars are pretty much standard though.

I was reading your looking at £2000-£5000 for a basic standard car race prepped - that guy on stockhatch got most of his bits 2nd hand or free.
Not only that but in the first race his car blew up.
plus your still looking at easily £2000-£3000 of fees and need car trailered etc, what if it blows up, crashes etc?
Still pretty cool though.
I was looking at this (part of the BARC) http://www.max5racing.com/aboutmax5.html
Mx5 Racing league. Similar running costs over the year £2000 ish - but rwd fun

I'd do stock hatch if I could get a S2 Rallye cheap enough

Yeah I know, just proves it can be done on a budget. I know a guy on rallyeregister who does it in an s2, hes spent around 6k on his car overall. Trailer costs are £25 a day hire, but you will need it for 3 days. Also if you cant afford a race you dont need to enter, just the races you can afford.
Ive done my research
