Depends on the opportunity you are leaving for, and the opportunities, stability of the job you are in. I've been doing a similar job for about 4 years but with different customers and slightly different types of work through.

When you're bored is probably as good an answer as any.

Was at my first job 4 1/2 years, it was an apprenticeship though was kind of stuck there.

Second job was 3 years, would have left earlier but was too lazy to do so, got laid off in the end.

Third job I've been here just over 3 months, just wanting to get some experience then I'll move on.

Once the job has nothing more to offer you, you move on.

Was in my first job for 7 years, then the one after that for Year and a half. Been in my new one for 8 months. Think I'll hang around though.

I left my first job after 7 years, I took voluntary redundancy.

I then had a break from working for about 3 months, got really bored.

Then I started as an Admin Officer in a secondary school. As from September I will be an Exams & Assessment Officer (although I am already doing it now). And in 2 years time I will be working in a brand new built school.

Sometimes a change can be a good thing
