well shes my Dads really but hes away on holiday so shes mine till next Tuesday

Shes a Staffordshire Bull Terrier called Billy, shes about 1 year old so still a bit of growing to do yet. Shes got a pedigree cos she came from a guy that enters them into shows. He mistreated her when she was younger though so shes a bit timid with new people.
About the 6th Staffy we've had now. Ace dogs.
When my Dad gets back I wont miss having to get up an hour earlier than normal to take her for a walk

Blue Staffys aren't proper Staffs They aren't recognised.
Pitbulls aren't actually banned but they should be IMO. You have to have a muzzle on them whenever they are in public. There is no way I would trust a Pitbull no matter how strong a bond you get with it. They have been bred for fighting.
With staffs you get the best of both. Better looking (IMO) cos they dont have the pointy evil ears, they are still quite stocky but are excellent with people.

Actually Blues are a recognised colour, take a look on any staffy website. Infact they are one of the most sought after colours and tend to cost more for true blues.
And pitbulls are banned, they are one of three breeds currently on the dangerous dogs list. And other than if you had one before the ban they are illegal to import, own or breed from. Believe me, I was looking into them as really wanted one!
BTW- Its a myth about pitbulls being bad tempered dogs, in America they are the ONLY dog mentioned by the dog pedigree thingy to be great with kids. Its the owners that are the bad thing, and any dog can be poorly trained to fight. Oh...and Staffys were also bred for bull baiting (along with pitbulls, bull dogs, etc.)

Blue Staffys are dogs that have the wrong genes! I've always been told they aren't proper staffs.
Your right you cant import Pitbulls but as you say its not illegal to have one if you allready had before the ban came in. They have to have had the snip and a load of other hassle to be allowed to have them.
Still get alot of them coming over from Ireland with dodgy certificates saying they are a Staffy Boxer Cross!
Yeah Staffs were bred as fighting dogs but they dont have that nutter streak in them that 100% of Pitbulls have!

All true, apart from the blues having wrong genes. They are just a different colour, perfectly nomral or wouldnt be recognised by the Kennel club.

I just go off what my Dad says about the blue ones he doesn't like them
My Dads mate runs the Northern SBT Rescue
http://www.sbtrescue.org.uk/
If your after one then see what he has as there are plenty of good homeless ones out there without people breeding them
