ITV News plays to white van man and Sun readers with superficial 'celebrity' news and entertaining stories more and more - its different and light hearted, and they obviously are mad for the world cup - but they're just broadcasting irrelevant 'pop news' for the masses which is degrating the quality of the program - and making people who actually watch the news turn over to another channel!

They probably have just given in to BBC and Sky (especially shown by them ditching their ITV News Channel) and thought 'to hell with it' and resigned themselves to the same content as ITN's other news - Five News. They're obviously aiming towards a different audience now.

I love it when they summarise some of tomorrows papers - they go through the environmental or war stories on the Independent or Observer, education on the Guardian, immigration or scandal on The Daily Mail, then the latest Big Brother' Shocker' on the Star, Mirror or Sun.

No wonder people have no idea of current affairs or the real world when all they read with their bacon butties is cr*p about 'celebs' everyday.

I think you could win an election by pitching your ideas not to educated clever people - but instead putting your message in between Corrie or Big Brother and making it appeal to people with the reading age of 10 year olds.

He's only brought it on himself - I think he'll realise what he's done when he realises it's probably best left in the 1980's!

I thought Crouch was pretending to be Pinocchio when he scored? Certainly looks like him.
